La identificación correcta y precisa de los hongos en general necesita mucho más que lo que vemos o apreciamos con nuestros sentidos, vista, tacto, gusto y olfato,la identificación precisa de una seta requiere en general un estudio más profundos de todos los caracteres microscópicos, bioquímicos, genéticos etc.
Con este trabajo queremos ayudar a la identificación de los hongos aportando los principales caracteres microscópicos de los hongos que podemos encontrar en el campo.

I am a mycologist from Malta and wish to learn ho to distinguish this species from closely related species namely A. obscurata and A. velutipes. I have found few populations of Arrhenia in Malta which are much darker, have clamp junctions, basidia 2- and 4- sporous , pileus margin more regular and smoot, colour striated radially, spores inamyloid.
